PSX Games Backup Using Alcohol 120%

1. Open Alcohol and Select the task "Image making wizard" From the options to in the left pane

2. In the next window select the read speed to maximum and for datatype choose Playstation.

3. Hit the next button and another screen pops up asking for a name for the Image and the location where it to be stored.

4. Leave the Image format as .mds as we are using Alcohol (The other option will create a cloneCD compatible image) hit the start button and the image creation will begin.

5. Once the image has been created it will showup in the top pane in the main window of alcohol

6. To burn the Image highlight the .mds file of the recently created image file and select the task "Image burning wizard" From the options in the left pane.

7. The next window shows you Information about the image file and gives you the option to delete the image after burning is finished (I prefer to delete the image afterwards manually just incase I may still need itl).

8. Click next to select the burning options, here you can select the drive to use for burning, the datatype to burn as (Choose playstation) and the speed to burn the disc at (For a more reliable burn always choose the slowest available speed!)

9. Hit next and the burning will begin with your chosen settings.

10. When burning is complete you should get this dialogue box.

11. Click OK and then in the next screen click finish.

12. You now have a fully working backup of the original disc, all that is left now is to test it to ensure that it works.
